History:
Everett Christian School was established in 1926 by
parents as the Society of Christian Schools in Everett.
Since 1926, ECS has been educating children from
Christian homes. Everett Christian School has been blessed to see
multiple generations of children from the same family
graduate.
Affiliation:
Everett Christian School is an approved institution of
academic learning by the State of Washington and is
a participating member of Christian Schools International
and Northwest Christian School International.
Faculty:
Teachers at Everett Christian School
are all Washington State certified. They are
all college graduates and many are working on advanced
degrees in education. The teachers at Everett Christian School
have a combined average of 10 years teaching at Everett
Christian School - this extremely low turnover rate provides great
consistency and high quality in the education profession.
Student-to-Teacher Ratio:
Everett Christian School has one of the
best student-to-teacher ratios in Western Washington at
approximately 9 students to 1 teacher. Students
educated in smaller classrooms tend to have their
educational needs met better with more focused
attention.
Discovery Program - National
Institutes of Learning Disabilities:
Everett Christian School is the only
private school in Snohomish County to offer a certified
National Institutes for Learning Disabilities (NILD)
program for students. ECS staff is
trained in a model of intervention
utilizing a variety of techniques designed to stimulate
cognitive and perceptual functioning. The goal of NILD
Educational Therapy is to equip individuals with
learning disabilities to succeed as independent

Parents provide transportation to and from school.

Technology:
Everett Christian Schools integrates technology into the
classroom through AlphaSmart laptops for each child and
a network of computer
workstations with Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003
programs in each classroom. Students are taught technology in the classroom
from basics through advanced topics and use these tools
in class assignments.
Classroom Library:
Everett Christian School has class room
libraries which
focus the power of the written word at the appropriate
grade level. Each teacher is empowered with book funds
to keep their library resources stocked with the latest
title of quality literature.
Tuition Prices:
Everett Christian School provides the best value in
Christian private education in Western Washington. With
an almost 80 year history, ECS has no building or
facilities debt enabling ECS to attract and pay a very
high quality staff while passing along tuition savings directly to
families.
Entrance Testing:
All students are required to take an entrance test when
entering the school to ensure the proper grade level and
need is assessed. There is an additional cost for
Testing.
Dress Code:
Everett Christian School believes in the individuality
and creativity of each child and encourages them to dress appropriately.
ECS does not require uniforms; however, a dress code is enforced to ensure each child properly attired.
Events:
The ECS annual calendar
is full of events
from the annual school potluck at the beginning of the year
through graduation at the end of the year. Students participate in
Thanksgiving and Christmas programs, science,
history, and language arts fairs, spelling and geography
bees, speech meet, spring programs and
graduation ceremonies.
Chapel:
ECS has weekly chapel on
Friday morning. Parents are encouraged to attend
Chapel with their children as a way to demonstrate your
faith in Christ to your children.
Parent Involvement:
Studies have demonstrated that active
involvement by parents in their children's school
increases the chances of success for children
academically. As a parent run school, each family
must volunteer for 40 hours of involvement at the
school.
Schedule:
The school hours are 8:15am – 3:15pm
each day. Everett Christian School has a before
and after care program if you need to drop off your
child or pick them up at a time outside of this range.
