Follow these Steps to Enroll at ECS:
  1. Schedule a tour to visit the school, speak to the administrator and pick up an information packet. Contact ECS for Admissions information.

  2. Complete and submit the ECS Application for Admission.  Each submitted application will be reviewed by the ECS Administration and ECS Board.  ECS will contact the applicant to continue the admissions process. If an applicant does not respond back to ECS within 60 days the application will be considered invalid and an applicant will have to reapply.

  3. Schedule a time to have your child academically screened.  For Kindergarten (see below), we use the Gesell Developmental Screening, and for 1st-8th we use the Woodcock-Johnson Test of Cognitive Abilities. The cost for these screenings are $35 for the first child and $25 for each additional child. There is no screening for Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten students.

  4. Schedule and have an interview to share the goals and expectations of ECS, as well as to determine enrollment status.  (Please see our entrance qualifications below)

  5. Upon acceptance, complete the registration process, including medical/emergency information, immunization forms, permission forms, tuition contract, and other important documents.

Admissions Qualifications:

  • Students must come from a Christian home defined as the following: at least one parent/guardian must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, must be a member or regularly worshipping in a local Christian church, and must not be participating in practices that would be considered illegal or considered by the school as immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian lifestyle, such as cohabiting without marriage or in a homosexual relationship.

  • The family must demonstrate the ability to cover the cost of education required of them (possibly including tuition assistance).

  • Students entering Kindergarten will be tested for school readiness skills, not academic skills, and must be five years of age prior to September 1st of the school year. All other 1st-8th grade students are academically screened as part of the application process. There is no screening for the Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten program.

  • Applications are reviewed and considered on a case by case basis and consider the unique needs of the individual students.

  • Applications from families with students who are physically or mentally disabled will be reviewed on an individual basis due to special resources.

  • There may be a reason to close enrollment for certain grades because of space constraints.  Applications for those grades will be considered on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Kindergarten Only

All Kindergarten students are screened for readiness before admission into ECS.  We require that children reach their fifth birthday on or before September 1st of the upcoming school year to be permitted to enter kindergarten for that year.  An exception to the age requirement may be granted by the school for children who show exceptional promise of success in kindergarten even if they will not reach age five by September 1st.  If asked by the child’s parents, we will administer the screening to children whose birthday falls between September 1st and November 1st.  We will not screen students whose birthday is after November 1st.

Once the screening is complete, an appointment will be made for a review of the child’s readiness for kindergarten.  The final evaluation decision will be made by the screener and the school Administrator, with input from the child’s parent(s).  If the child is five years old by September 1st, but does not meet the readiness qualifications, further evaluation may be required or a student would be encouraged to enroll in our Pre-Kindergarten program.
