Preschool / Pre-Kindergarten

Our Belief about Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten

We believe that every child is valuable in the sight of God.  Each child is a unique Creation with an individual pattern for growth and development.  In considering each child as the unique person he/she is, it is the desire of the preschool/pre-kindergarten program to provide experiences that meet each child’s need and to stimulate learning in all developmental areas; spiritual, physical, social, emotional and intellectual.

Everett Christian School offers two levels of Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten.  The Pre-K program  for 4 year olds meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 8:30am to 11:30am. The Preschool program for 3 year olds meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 11:30am.

Preschool/Pre-K Program Objectives

These are some of the underlying objectives of the Everett Christian School Preschool/Pre-Kindergarten, towards which we, as the families and teachers, hope to work:

1. Provide a secure and loving environment for the child’s development.

2. Develop a sense of wonder and appreciation for God’s Creation.

3. Develop an assurance of God’s love for the child, and encourage a loving response to God and others.

4. Build up the child’s self-image and strengthen his/her concept of the worth of others.

5. Strengthen the child’s confidence in facing new situations and experiences.

6. Establish a sense of social responsibility, encouraging cooperation and sensitivity to others.

7. Enhance the child’s ability to express his/her ideas and emotions in verbal and nonverbal ways (ex: through imaginative play and artistic activities).

8. Gradually develop skills needed for success in Kindergarten such as listening and good work habits.
